I think HS does start out slow, though. I know there were parts where I was just punching the clock to get through them, because I wasn't totally engaged with the story. But like you say, somewhere along the way, I got sucked in. Actually, I know exactly where I got sucked in. It was on this page.
This is soo pretty! The only it that bothers me is the bckground, it kind of looks like a photograph of the sky pasted in there. Maybe if it had a blue border or something? (or was another shape besides rectangle) But I love the lighting and shading and everything, great job!
Ahh that's probably the third or fourth time I've heard about that sky thing... I should probably do something about that. XD The border idea sounds viable. I like my desktop backgrounds to be fairly simple and mostly white so I ran with that, and I love rendering skies so I ran with that too... Needs more forethought, clearly~

Well to be fair there is usually some arbitrary aging-up before they get them in the bedroom.
Oh you could do it so the blue part sort of fades out, instead of having that sharp border. The white clouds already blend into the white background so the blue part just needs to be a background or something? I just thought the border idea was simpler xD.
