VIII: Strength

There's that anime Hyouka airing and I just immediately fell head over heels for it. Finally got my inspiration for fanart come episodes 10 and 11 when the subject of tarot came up. Knew right away that I wanted to create an Art Nouveau tarot card piece for Houtarou's card, Strength. Didn't really want to draw Chitanda, but it seemed fairly important that there be a woman in the piece, so.

Houtarou got put into a Victorian era suit because A.) Art Nouveau overlaps with the Victorian era or B.) Sherlock Holmes takes place in Victorian society. Both of these things are true, but only one was intentional! Indicating Houtarou as a lion took some thinking because I didn't want to put him in a silly outfit, so he got a carved wooden mask. Hopefully the intent is clear.

Characters are Houtarou Oreki and Eru Chitanda from Hyouka.
Sketch to final in PSCS5 over the course of three days. *weeps bitterly*
